Updated DD Form 293 (DEC 2019 Edition) for Discharge Review Boards

Posted January 27th, 2020 in General

In December, the Department of Defense updated the DD Form 293, which is necessary to begin a case at any of the discharge review boards. The newest version bears the date Dec 2019 in the lower-left corner of the form and must be used for all future applications. The new form can be found here (Air Force Discharge Review Board) or here (Navy Discharge Review Board. As of this writing, the DD 293 link at the Army Discharge Review Board website is not updated to the latest form. Please note that the new form’s PDF is a bit more finicky than older versions, and you must use Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Acrobat Reader to open and fill the form.

So, before sending in your application, be sure to check the date on your DD Form 293.

Below is a low-quality scan of the new form. Unlike the ones that can be downloaded from the Navy and Air Force sites, it is not electronically fillable.
